Mixtur, in collaboration with Fabra i Coats – Fàbrica de Creació, opens the application for Improvisation Workshop in Conducting - Mixtur 2018 as part of the Festival Mixtur 2018, which will take place in Barcelona from April 19th to April 29th. The workshop will be directed by Fred Frith and is aimed at both students and professionals, regardless of their age or nationality, interested in contemporary improvisation.
The Improvisation Workshop Mixtur 2018 will be directed by:

The workshop will take place from the 25th to the 28th of April 2018. Fred Frith will design the contents of the workshop depending on the number of students and their instruments. The workshop will consist of 3 working sessions (the days 25th, 26th and 27th of April, from 10am to 1:30pm) and a final concert as part of the official program of the Festival Mixtur 2018 on April 28th between 10am and 1:30pm. During the workshop, Fred Frith will offer a Master Class where he will present his work as a composer and improviser. Master Classes of the rest of the Workshops will be also part of the agenda. These sessions will take place during the same week of the Improvisation Workshop and will be offered by the composers Gabriel Brnčić, Tristan Murail and Alexander Shubert, tutors of the Composition and Sound Experimentation Workshop 2018.
