Core and periphery
On June 1, 2012 the Mixtur Project started its path with CORE AND PERIPHERY. With a clear intention to investigate other possibilities in the world of music creation, the Mixtur Festival offered its mission statement defining a way to face the music creation: the search for new languages of our own historical moment. Multisensory perception marked the first edition in Fabra i Coats with works by Stockhausen, Marc Garcia Victoria, José Manuel BerenguerOliver Rappoport and Voro García, plus the presence of multidisciplinary projects involving dance or visual arts.
In this first edition of Mixtur Festival, Fabra I Coats welcomed permanent installations as part of the festival. Especifically, these were works by Marisa Rueda and Cristina Chaplin-Rueda made in India for three months on a project called Art Karavan and exposed by Mixtur’s invitation:
- OBJECT CORE AND PERIPHERY
- EMERGING LEGENDS
- FREEDOM
Played by the flutist Ilse Ikse and the saxophonist Vicent Minguet and with the participation between pieces of the dancers Ariadna Estalella and Mireia de Querol, this edition’s program called “Core and periphery” was:
