Duo Hellqvist/Amaral – Coordination and performance. Fearless in their exploration of the newest music, the duo formed by Karin Hellqvist (violin) and Heloisa Amaral (piano) has since 2009 played an outstanding role in the field of experimental music, performing new works in Norway, Sweden, USA, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Danmark, Iceland, Korea, Italy or Colombia. At MIXTUR they perform together with project partner Maximilian Sauer (DE), sound directior. Hellqvist/Amaral has recently started two larger projects, “Disobediences in Sound”, with composers and sound artists Alberto Bernal, Marina Rosenfeld, Dror Feiler, Lisa Streich, Fran Cabeza de Vaca & Maria Salgado and Kent Olofsson, as well as “Impossible Situations: A Collective Nordic Experiment” (IS:CNE), an collaborative and process oriented initiative partly funded by the Nordic Culture Fund and including architect Filippa Berglund, sound director Max Sauer, photographer Ellen Inga and composers Lars Petter Hagen, Marina Rosenfeld, Simon Løffler, Ida Lundén, Ricardo Eizirik, Catherine Lamb, Daniel Moreira, Kaj David and Øyvind Torvund. The creations of these collectives will be shown at Borealis Festival (NO), Mixtur (ESP), CentroCentro (ESP), Scandinavian House (NY), National Sawdust (NY), One Month Festival (KO), CMMAS (MEX), Time of Music (FI), Kalvfestivalen (SE) AVGARDE (NO) et al. between 2018-19.
