FESTIVAL MIXTUR 2015: ENSEMBLE CROSSINGLINES

FESTIVAL MIXTUR 2015: CROSSINGLINES

The CrossingLines ensemble is one of the most prominent Spanish chamber groups specialized in contemporary music. Its unusual grouping (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, percussion and piano), its unique vision of music of our time together with their comprehensive concert programs makes them one of the most honest and refreshing proposals of our country in the field of music today. The ensemble, formed in the ESMuC (School of Music of Catalonia) under the artistic direction of composer Luis Codera Puzo, has been established as a powerful source of cutting edge music in their city, finding its repertoire in commissions and performances by living composers. In 2011 the ensemble was awarded the INJUVE 2011 in the category of classical music, resulting in a major concert tour in Spain. Since 2012 they offer their own cycle of contemporary music in Barcelona in different halls such as l’Auditori, l’Ateneu Barcelonès or the Fundació Tàpies, combined with numerous concerts in several festivals highlighting their participation in the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the MIXTUR festival, the ME_MMIX. CrossingLines ensemble has the support of the Ernst von Siemens foundation for their project’s financing on 2014.
